The Costume Ball marks the climax of the CHESTNUT season
Among CHESTNUT’s suggestions to make your stay in Paris unforgettable we have, of course, the annual Costume Ball! The next one will take place in Paris on June 9th, 2024.
It will crown a year of work on the dances you’ll find in the programme. Preparing for the Costume Ball makes up a large part of our teaching.
Besides the workshops organised specifically to prepare for the Costume Ball, other activities focus on exploring other aspects of English figure dances but we’ll come to that later. For now, let’s focus on the Costume Ball.
CHESTNUT gives a lot of attention to style and to matching the dancing to the music.
To take part in CHESTNUT’s 13th Costume Ball on June 9th, 2024
If you live far from Paris you can still prepare for the Costume Ball with our intensive Spring workshops.
Two workshops take place in the third week of April: a 3-day workshop for intermediate-level dancers (April 15, 16 and 17, 2024), consisting of (a number soon to be released) dances for that level and (a number soon to be released) easy dances for all levels, and a 4-day workshop (April 18 to 21, 2024) for advanced dancers consisting of (a number soon to be released) advanced-level dances plus (a number soon to be released) intermediate-level ones and (a number soon to be released) easy ones for all levels.
Advanced dancers may of course register for both workshops, in which case a price reduction will apply to the Intermediate workshop.
Before the workshop, all dancers registered to take part will receive videos of the dances. The sooner you register for the workshop, the sooner you will receive the videos.
If you wish to dance only the intermediate-level dances it is possible to prepare for the ball just with the videos.
The workshops are also open to people who do not wish to take part in the Costume Ball.
Enrolling as a member and all registrations (registrations for the Preparing for the Costume Ball (PCB) workshops or PBC by video, for the Costume Ball and for guided visits) will close : on March 31, 2024 at midnight.. We cannot accept registrations after that date.
Please note: we do our utmost to ensure that each dancer has an enjoyable time and that is why all the sets are made up and fixed during the workshops. Even so, we cannot guarantee that every dancer who has prepared for the ball will have a place in a set for each and every dance. It may happen, but it can’t be guaranteed.
